Semov Drunk Driving Checkpoints

Post by cerebrozo on Mon Dec 18, 2017 10:22 am

As you know, officials from the Jalisco State Department of Traffic (Semov) are setting up random checkpoints in the area to catch drunk drivers. Well, two days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several cocktails followed by some rather nice red wine. Feeling jolly, I still had the sense to know that I may be slightly over the limit. That's when I did something I've never done before - I took a cab home. Sure enough, on the way home there was a police road block, but since it was a cab they waved the car right through. I arrived home safely without incident. This was a real surprise as I had never driven a cab before and I don't even know where I got it from. And now that it's in my garage, I don't know what to do with it!

That IS funny! Now, don't go giving people ideas 'cuz we all know that some people will go to great lengths to bypass laws in Mexico.
BTW, do you know where I can buy yellow car paint?

Related to this I was informed very recently that they will be setting up checkpoints again in our local area during the holiday season. So driver beware.......

I may need to borrow your taxi...... Beer

A friend of mine, back in the late 70s, used to drive the night shift for North Shore Taxi in North Vancouver. He used to drive pissed all the time. Never had a problem even when going through seasonal road blocks.
