Can someone re-index the database
The board makes little sense with these disjointed messages. Gawd Bob ... I hope this is a free board and they do all the maintenance
Re: Can someone re-index the database
Well its free for you Sparks.....hehe.
What do you mean by "re-index the database"?

Maybe he means the huge gaps in the Chula Vista thread. Large spaces between posts with the print sort of garbled & run together.

Did you have to pay for this forum, Bob? That's not fair for you to carry the costs yourself.

Re: Can someone re-index the database
No I just pay for extra storage space. The cost is minimal. It looks like only a few members posts are messed up. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with their settings. Zoey, have you changed any settings recently?

Or it looks like there may be a problem with the quote on replies. I'll have to look at it when I get time this weekend.

Re: Can someone re-index the database
It's doing it on other threads and looks like it starts with a Solovino post ... but it was not that way a few days ago. Maybe his settings changed?

Re: Can someone re-index the database
I figured out the problem lies with the "quotes" so I guess until I get it resolved avoid using the quote button on your responses (unless you need to).
Thanks,
Bob

One can always copy and paste and avoid using the "quote" button.

Yep, if I delete the quote that starts it going funny then it corrects itself.

Re: Can someone re-index the database
OK I have found out that the problem is not just with this forum. Everyone using this forum provider is having the same problem. Apparently the techs are working on it. I have turned off the quote button for now. If you need to quote someone just cut and paste.
Sorry,
Bob

Re: Can someone re-index the database
If they can't fix this problem I can convert the forum to an older version of PHP. It wouldn't look quite as slick but the quote option works. I just tested it. I'll give them a couple of days. I can always convert it back to this version once the bug has been fixed.
Thoughts??

Bob,
Why make more work for yourself? Give them a chance to fix it, then do the conversion you mention later if necessary. I kinda think you could save a lot
of room on the forum if so many posters didn't feel the need to quote EVERYTHING before they comment.
