Lots of good positive vibes being sent puppy's way...I know if puppy is OK, then you'll be OK.

Aw, thanks everyone, thanks so much.

No, EdeL, the pup had not had shots, he came from the Mexican family across the street who own the mother, who is just the coolest doggie, I received him Friday night and he became symptomatic Saturday night with Sunday eating and drinking a tiny bit but Monday nothing and increased lethargy. That's when we went to the vet and he got a shot of an antibiotic and vitamins. This morning he wouldn't eat at all so we went back and he was admitted.

No, Elehne1, I found her a better home with a family and lots of room to run. We weren't a good match.

Julie, thanks so much I will cling to your comment.

Update: After getting home I cleaned up the garden area and found some fresh poop that was not diarrhea or bloody - which is hallmark parvo. Then the woman who owns the mother said the mother had been sick for several days last week with exactly the same symptoms, no diarrhea either, and they force fed her water and penicillin. She made a full recovery. So, now we're thinking it may not be parvo. . . ojala

Keep holding good thoughts.

Crossed paws from the Corgi Crew and Mono the mostly Mini Schnauzer. Here's hoping it is something less dangerous than Parvo. Then get the damn shots.

I heard that there was also an outbreak of Distemper. Haven't seen that NOB in years.

Sure hope your baby makes it. Parvo is so nasty.

Big cyber hug

Louie is home!!! Yay!

After his IV and meds he ate some and drank water so they said he can come home tonight and be watched at home.

He's more animated, he's barked at the neighborhood dogs, LOVED the ride in the car (a completely new experience) drank water, peed, and is down for the count. We are to return tomorrow for evaluation. Vamos a ver. It was all your good energy and thoughts that did it, we are so much obliged! :)

If he does recover from this, it likely wasn't parvo and as soon as he's able he will get the vaccines. Not yet tho, as it's live vaccine and vets said his immune system has to be top notch first.

Ya the Parvo would of lasted at least a week, so it must of been something else.

Good news.

There is a related virus called Corona. My golden picked it up from a walk where the ground had held the virus. She survived to life a long full life. Ask if they can vaccinate for that too. Older dogs are not much at risk but pups are.

What kind of dog is Louie? I have been thinking of him as "Little Louie" but realized he could be a bull mastiff for all I know. Very Happy

So glad that Louie is home now. Our prayers will stay with the little guy and he'll be as good as new soon. Dr. Pepe saved our little Abi (pictured), 2 years ago, had to have her speen removed and he diagnosed it immediately. He saved her life with emergency surgery on a Sunday afternoon and she's turned out to be a little piss ant ever since. We love every moment of it though. Louie is high on our prayer list.
