Recent scientific articles state that physical activity is necessary to prevent dementia or to keep it at bay.  That seems easier to do in Mexico where you have to walk everywhere and the climate is appropriate for it.

It's also very important to have good sleep habits. If you don't get enough slow wave sleep, you're in trouble because that is the only time that the brain can do its housecleaning. Here is the link for the scientific explanation but think of it as garbage piling up on street corners during a strike. The garbage is plaque and tau tangles.

I used to play table tennis until I popped my sterno-clavicular joint. Now I can’t play anymore.

I turned around and picked up my granddaughter with my right arm. The following day I noticed a nodule at the top of my sternum. Fearing the worst I went to my doctor. He said it would only bother me if I stressed it so I quit ping pong
